Domino technology feted at German expo

Domino at Interpack

Cambridge UK inkjet technology business Domino has been commended for its leading-edge technology, its vision to see and address major market opportunities and its recognition of future regulatory changes which will drive business demand.

Domino has just returned from exhibiting at Interpack in Dusseldorf where it showcased its latest coding and marking technology to a global audience.

A report prepared by UBS at the Show highlights Domino’s strength in its field, particularly in seeing the potential for the ‘digital opportunity’ with the launch of its new N610i ink jet label press and its leadership in addressing the forthcoming requirements of the Falsified Medicines Directive.

The report also focuses on other new product launches at the show including QuickDesign, new enhancements to Domino’s software suite; the F220i fibre laser which extends capabilities into the automotive, construction and electronics sectors; the D-Series i-Tech 15 laser focused on the food and pharmaceutical sectors; and the A520i CIJ printer which features a stainless steel cabinet and is already seeing demand from the dairy sector.

Domino’s business model was also commended, particularly its dual-pronged digital printing strategy of engaging with brand owners as well as selling directly to label printers.

Sheila Richardson, Domino Group marketing manager said: “Interpack was a great success for us, both in terms of showcasing our new products and underlining our commitment to meeting the needs of a wide range of sectors with specific technology.

“The launch of our N610i press highlighted the huge potential offered by digital printing which we see as a big growth driver for Domino in the next few years. It currently accounts for 12 per cent of sales.”
