A US print company subsidiary has leased units 1-3 Ermine Centre on Huntingdon’s Ermine Business Park in one of the biggest industrial deals in the area during 2011.

Barker Storey Matthews’ Huntingdon office acted on behalf of the Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) Property Trust in the deal.

The new occupier is CLE Print Ltd which will be relocating from St Ives.  CLE, which provides print technology and marketing services, has recently been acquired by Mimeo, a leading US online printing and distribution solutions company.

The premises comprise over half the established Ermine Centre incorporating three linked units totalling just over 51,000 sq ft. Each unit comprises of two storey frontal offices together with a separately accessed warehouse unit at the rear with an adjacent car park and self-contained goods yard.

The transaction was handled on behalf of SWIP by Richard Adam of Barker Storey Matthews who said: “We are pleased to welcome CLE to the Ermine Centre and to what is a first class development that will allow for their growth and expansion over future years.

“We have been involved with this estate for over 20 years and it has always proved popular to occupiers with a good blend of office and warehouse/business space together with excellent parking, good access and what remains a distinctive design and image.

“There are a number of current enquiries in the market for buildings within this size range and we are continually looking for further buildings such as this to offer.”

CLE will move into the new facility in the autumn and it will serve as the headquarters for Mimeo Europe as well as the company’s first production and distribution centre in Europe. More than 4,000 corporations across every major industry use Mimeo and CLE services to manage print and distribute materials to over 141 countries. The combined company has over 640 employees.

Jamie Wardley, managing director of CLE Print Ltd, said: “We have always been impressed with Mimeo’s technology-driven culture, cloud-based customer facing applications and overnight distribution capabilities. By joining forces, we are able to offer customers an integrated set of capabilities that neither one of us could have offered alone.”
