Tyndall joins a Birketts Cambridge team that has increased fourfold
The ‘capture’ of experienced employment lawyer Tim Tyndall from Penningtons Manches has handed Birketts a significant boost as it prepares to move into a new, flagship Cambridge headquarters.
Birketts CEO Jonathan Agar says the firm has increased fourfold since it launched a Cambridge office. It will shortly be moving operations to the new HQ along Station Road.
Tyndall’s move across the city was flagged up by Penningtons Manches along with its latest results. He joins Birketts in September. Freed from confidentiality issues, Tyndall and Birketts have now trumpeted the move.
Tyndall told Business Weekly: “Birketts is recognised as one of the top UK law firms and the employment team is consistently rated in the top bandings in the leading legal directories across the East Anglian region.
“I am delighted to be joining a team and firm with a reputation for excellence that represents a large number of national and international businesses, organisations and individuals in a wide range of cases and I am excited about the opportunities which this move promises.”
Jeanette Wheeler, head of the employment team at Birketts added: “Tim is a really great addition to the team. With over 20 years of experience in employment law he brings a wealth of experience and expertise in both contentious and non-contentious employment issues and he has a fantastic reputation with clients.
“He also has a significant expertise in the education and technology sectors which fits well with the industry sectors in which we already have a very credible and growing reputation particularly in Cambridge.
“Tim has been recognised as a leader in his field in the Legal 500 and Chambers. The addition of such a highly qualified and well known and well respected member of the team will help ensure that we continue to offer our clients a premier legal offering.”
Jonathan Agar concluded: “It’s thrilling that we have been able to recruit a partner of such standing in Cambridge. Since launching our Cambridge office we’ve enjoyed a fourfold increase in staff numbers, attracting key individuals across the firm’s main service areas.
“As a result, after several years of expansion we’ve simply outgrown our existing premises and we’ll shortly be moving offices, just along Station Road.”
