Birketts advises on sale of EdTech business to US buyer

James Allen

Birketts has advised the shareholders of EnlightKS Holdings, a provider of eLearning and eAssessment based in the Cambridge UK technology cluster, on its sale to PSI Services LLC (PSI), – a US-based global leader in the assessment industry. The value of the deal was undisclosed.

Established in 1995, EnlightKS – based in Melbourn near Royston – delivers millions of tests annually and thousands of hours of learning and support to organisations in 26 countries from its offices in the UK and Sweden.

The combination of EnlightKS and PSI extends both organisations’ product range and solutions reach.

EnlightKS was formed following the acquisition of Enlight AB of Sweden by UK-based Knowledge Solutions. This gives the company a history of involvement in this market stretching back over 20 years.

Headquartered in the Cambridge cluster, EnlightKS has regional offices in Oxford and Durham and in Umeå in Sweden. Birketts advised on all legal matters. James Allen led the award-winning corporate team, with assistance from Corinne Spencer (corporate) and Carol Bun (tax).

Adrian Palmer-Geaves. CEO of EnlightKS, said: “We chose Birketts to represent us due to their proven track record in the technology sector, their knowledge and experience relating to US buyers and the firm’s first-rate reputation for client care.”

James Allen (pictured), corporate partner at Birketts, added: “We are delighted to have helped to deliver a successful outcome for the shareholders of EnlightKS and look forward to seeing the firm continue to thrive under the leadership of the PSI management team.”
