Easy breathing for Bespak following excellent year ends

Bespak plc, the Milton Keynes-based developer of inhaled medical devices, reported a 17 per cent increase in revenues and a 24 per cent lift in pre tax profit for the year ended 29 April 2006.Bespak plc, the Milton Keynes-based developer of inhaled medical devices, reported a 17 per cent increase in revenues and a 24 per cent lift in pre tax profit for the year ended 29 April 2006.

The company’s price went up 22 pence to 625 pence a share as revenue hit £93.1m (2005: £79.4m) and profit before tax and special items reached £13.5m (2005: £10.9m).

Mark Throdahl, Bespak’s chief executive, said: “Performance in our core businesses in inhaled drug delivery exceeded expectations; Exubera(R), the first inhaled drug for diabetes was approved, providing a significant market opportunity; and King Systems was acquired and successfully integrated. We look forward with confidence.”
