Hong Kong tucks into Essex crisps
Essex-based artisan crisp producer, Fairfields Farm, has signed contracts with two major retail groups in Hong Kong.
With export sales totalling 20 per cent of Fairfields Farm’s overall sales, these new deals are a further boost to the brand and proof that there is a real demand for high quality crisps and snacks overseas.
Three containers of its Fairfields Farm hand-cooked crisps, Lentil Lites and Tortillas are already on their way to Hong Kong, representing around 45,000-50,000 bags. These will be sold through two leading retail groups which operate around 4,866 stores in Hong Kong and China.
“These are major deals for us,” said Robert Strathern, co-founder of Fairfields Farm. “Our export sales are a huge part of our business.”
The family-owned firm aims to double its growth over the next few years.
