Cyan hosts meeting with Chinese Minister

Smart metering and lighting technology business, Cyan Holdings plc was today hosting a high-level delegation from China at its Cambridge UK offices.

Minister Councillor Zhou and his team were visiting Cyan to meet executive chairman, John Cronin and the management team and learn about the AIM company’s mesh based flexible wireless solutions for utility metering and lighting control.

Cyan was showcasing its technology to the delegation from the Chinese Embassy and demonstrating the benefits that its ‘last mile’ connectivity solution can deliver to smart city projects across China.

Cyan will also discuss how the Ambassador can support Cyan to further develop its commercial offerings in the Chinese market.

Cronin said: “We are delighted to host a meeting with Minister Councillor Zhou and his delegation. The market opportunity in China is growing rapidly and it is expected to see over 435 million electric smart meters installed by 2020.”

Later this week, Cyan is participating in a trade mission organised by Cambridge Cleantech and supported by UKTI, the British Embassy and the China-Britain Business Council.

During the three-day event, at IGEBC in Beijing, Cyan will exhibit on a British Business Pavilion and Dr Sean Cochrane, product director, will present ‘Delivering Smart Lighting Benefits’ during the UKTI seminar on March 29.

IGEBC is the annual flagship event of the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development (MOHURD) and the leading sustainable building event in China.
